June 1st 2006 saw the visit of Their Royal Highnessess the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay to Resipole Studios. Joined by various council members including Charles Kennedy, his wife and son TRH were greeted by representatives from the Sunart

Oakwoods Initiative, Sgilean Na Coille, The Princes Scottish Youth Business Trust and representatives from the Highland Council. The visit was part of a larger outing to Ardnamurchan and the Inner Isles, of which Rum was a large aspect as HRH Prince Charles has become a trustee for the renovation of Kinloch Castle.

Resipole Studios presented the Duke and Duchess with a painting on behalf of the Sunart Oakwoods entitled 'Oak and Birch Woodland' by Andrew Sinclair, and TRH very kindly signed the visitors book. Near the end of the visit, after Dr. Michael Foxley and Andrew Sinclair showed HRH Prince Charles around the Gallery to look at some of the paintings, the Duchess requested to purchase one of the oils from the exhibiton - ''A Study of Hands', by Andrew Sinclair.

While discussing the art in the gallery, Prince Charles mentioned that he would like to exhibit one of his paintings in an up and coming show at Resipole Studios. This show looks set to be held towards the end of August. Contact us for more details.

Resipole Studios were fortunate enough to win the regional PSYBT/RBS awards back in September 2005, which then entitled us to be shortlisted for the finals at the Barony Hall in Glasgow (out of around 580 businesses). The event was a great experience where the studios were presented with the Creative Industries award, each of the six finalists won an award relative to their business. As soon as we track down some photographs of the event, there will be some posted.

Included as part of the award package a short film was made especially for the studios this will be posted online in the near future.
