After completing an honours degree in 1997, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Museum and Gallery Curation in 2000, Rose Strang worked as an arts curator and artist until 2012 when she began to focus solely on painting.

As curator and lead artist she worked on public art projects in Scotland and the West Midlands, including a two-year project for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and as Lead Artist for Glasgow’s NHS building development at Leverndale Hospital.

In 2018 she was accepted as a professional member of the Society of Scottish Artists (SSA).

Times critic Giles Sutherland said of Rose's work in a Times review:

"Rose Strang brings the whole force of experience and love of nature into her work ... You can see the work's been layered, and there's a lot of experimentation, a lot of energy and love."
