ben henriques
Ben Henriques was born in Chester in 1967 but spent much of his early life growing up in Scotland. After graduating with a degree in Fine Art from Newcastle University in the late 80s, he moved to London and quickly established himself as a well respected artist. Garnering attention from critics and galleries, he was invited to exhibit a self-portrait at the National Portrait Gallery and was featured three times in the BP Awards. Since then, his reputation has gone from strength to strength and his work has been exhibited in many prestigious galleries throughout the UK and Europe. Despite this success, Ben continues to paint works intended for the home, rather than as museum pieces. His works are representational and are steeped in the traditional craft of painting. Carefully balanced complementary colours and tones help to create a rich harmony in his quiet and contemplative paintings.
