Having initially studied Fine Art at Carlisle College of Art, he went on to study advanced woodturning with Melvyn Firmager in Somerset. A professional woodturner since 1998, he crafts wooden vessels and sculptures using locally sourced, sustainable native wood. His work is characterised by a blend of traditional techniques and his own innovative methods, often incorporating carved, distressed, and burnt finishes, as well as other materials. Angus’s woodturnings have been widely exhibited throughout the UK and are included in permanent collections such as the Shipley Art Gallery and the Scottish Parliament.
