diane tulloch
Diane Tulloch is a graduate of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design. Her work is influenced and inspired by the colours, patterns and textures found in the natural world, and the effects of Scotland’s ever-changing weather and how light plays with the appearance of the landscape. A visual artist who uses paint, raw pigment and mixed media to create texture in her work, she exposes hidden layers by scraping back to uncover previous marks and colours. Even sand collected on trips to the west coast of Scotland has found its way into her paintings. By working in layers, she brings memories and observations of landscapes and the natural environment to life. Diane enjoys exploring the immediacy and energy of mark-making to create works with elements of surprise that, ultimately, convey a strong sense of place.
