Ewan McClure is a Scottish artist who graduated with a BA (Hons) from Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen, in 1997. Since 2018, he has been artist-in-residence at Broughton House, Kirkcudbright. A finalist on Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year in 2013, where his subjects included Michael Kerr, Sophie Dahl, and AP McCoy, his swift and lifelike portraits have become highly sought-after, both in the UK and internationally. He went on to be a finalist in the BP Portrait Award and was shortlisted for the coveted Conversations Prize at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. Beyond portraits, his artistic practice encompasses observational still-life and landscape paintings.  His distinctive works are showcased in esteemed collections, including those of The Robert Fleming, Princeton Theological Seminary, and The Royal Scottish Academy. Resipole Studios championed Ewan’s work early on in his career and we are delighted to have the opportunity to show his work once again.
