fiona duckett
Fiona Duckett is a contemporary Scottish ceramicist based in Aberdeenshire who has been creating beautiful iridescent forms for more than twenty-five years. Using a unique technique called ‘In Glaze Reduction Lustre’, she aims to catch all the colours of the rainbow in just one glaze. Her distinctive works are immediately arresting and captivating. Fiona’s creative journey started with textiles, however, after being introduced to a potters wheel she was hooked. As a result, Fiona honed her craft by working for two separate potters in St Andrews. She went on to study for a Degree in ceramics at Duncan of Jordanstone in Dundee and, later, for a Masters at Grays School of Art in Aberdeen. In 2003 she established her own pottery - Watergaw Ceramics - in an old Methodist church in Banff.
