hugo saloschin
Originally from Scotland, Hugo Saloschin trained as a portrait painter in Florence at Charles Cecil Studios. This classical training gave him a sound understanding of form, perspective, light and shade. His skill as an artist was quickly recognised and, consequently, he was invited to remain as a teacher. However, before long, he turned his attention to full time landscape painting. Working solely from life, Hugo paints predominantly en plein air, in all elements. Since leaving Florence, alongside undertaking portrait commissions, he has devoted much time to painting landscapes throughout Europe, with regular visits to Scotland, as well as trips to Russia, Nepal and New Orleans. His work hangs in private collections across the UK, Europe and the US.
