In October 2007, Argyll artist Jenny Soep, known for live music painting, held a solo show at Resipole Studios, featuring art from the recent Connect Festival with performances by Björk, Beastie Boys and M.I.A. Sixteen years later, now in Sweden, she was invited back to the revived Connect Festival to capture acts like Primal Scream, Franz Ferdinand and Boygenius.

To prepare, Jenny embarked on a solo journey along Scotland’s West Highland Way, a 96-mile trek. She painted en plein air, embracing the elements, also utilising her #WakingThoughts practice - a visual journal of dreams and reflections. Carrying her supplies - and keeping her paintings safe and dry during the ten day walk - she camped, swam and foraged, merging her love for her homeland’s nature, and drawing (from) the experience.

Jenny Soep is a visual artist, documentary illustrator and performer.
