penny godlington

Penny Godlington is a contemporary Scottish landscape painter who captures the raw, dramatic beauty of the Highlands and Islands. Raised in Boat of Garten, her childhood was defined by the outdoors—skiing on the Cairngorms and sailing on Loch Morlich—forming a lifelong bond with nature that anchors her creative vision. After graduating with a First Class Honours degree from Gray’s School of Art, she established her studio in a traditional steading overlooking Abernethy Forest. Working primarily in acrylics on cotton canvas, Godlington uses bold, saturated colours to bridge the gap between reality and abstraction. Her vibrant, textured landscapes emphasise the power of natural elements, from shifting coastal lights to approaching storms. Featuring wild coastlines, remote bothies, and ancient pine woods, her artwork is regularly exhibited in prominent galleries throughout Scotland.
