Handcrafted from burr ash, resin and foraged treasure in a small, one-man workshop on the Isle of Lismore.
Inspired by a time when life was inseparable from the sea. Old maps of Lismore show more than 17 named ports that today look like small stony beaches breaking up the rugged coastline.
Exposed to the predominant Westerly winds, close to the still working pier at Salen is the shingle beach of Port Dreadhain. A good example of how any break in the rocky coastline was used to land or pull-out small boats by the forgotten communities.
