Rona Slevin was brought up in Glasgow and moved to live in West Kilbride in 2003. She studied Ceramics at Glasgow School of Art from 1979-83. Although keeping up a creative output though other mediums, including glasswork and painting, she only returned to making Ceramics in 2009. Rona’s work is predominantly hand built from stoneware, which is then fired to a high temperature. She loves the contrast between her electric kiln fired work and the unpredictability of raku firing, which is completed outdoors and produces quick results. Her work is inspired by nature, textures and architecture, and is constantly evolving.
