roots & wings | scottish potters association

31 March to 10 May

Roots & Wings celebrates the dynamic world of contemporary Scottish ceramics through an exciting collection of works by twelve members of the Scottish Potters Association: Fiona Duckett, Frances Clark, Helen Michie, Iain Campbell, Jill Houghton Slyte, Kathryn Stevens, Kerstin Gren, Michelle Lowe, Moyra Stewart, Patricia Shone, Rona Slevin, and Shona Jack. Each artist brings their own unique perspective to the medium of clay, pushing its boundaries to create both functional and sculptural pieces, as well as innovative decorative forms.

Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, The Scottish Potters Association (SPA) is a member-run organization founded in 1974 to promote all aspects of handmade pottery and ceramics in Scotland. They offer support to potters of all experience levels, from beginners to professionals. Through workshops, events, and an online network, the SPA connects Scotland’s geographically dispersed potters and provides them with a valuable source of information and advice on everything related to working with clay.
